AI IN TRANSLATION: A TOOL, NOT A REPLACEMENT
At Lingua Graphica Translations, every project starts and ends with human expertise. We are a human translation company — our team of professional, native-speaking linguists is the reason our clients trust us with their most sensitive and technical content. Artificial intelligence has become part of the tools we use, but it has never been, and will never be, a substitute for the judgment, cultural knowledge, and accountability that only a human translator can provide.
OUR HUMAN FACTOR: WHAT SETS US APART IN THE AI ERA
In an industry increasingly driven by automated, machine-first workflows, our approach is different: we do not depend on AI to produce our translations. Every project we deliver is built by qualified human linguists from start to finish. AI is one more tool in our toolbox — never the foundation of our work, and never a substitute for the judgment, cultural fluency, and accountability that define quality translation. While others lean on automation to cut costs and turnaround times, we guarantee a human behind every word, on every project, in every language pair.
WHERE AI FITS INTO OUR PROCESS
As a boutique translation company, we made a deliberate choice about where AI fits into our work. Large-volume language providers increasingly let AI generate the first draft of a translation, with a linguist editing afterward, a model built for speed and scale. Our approach is different, and our clients know it, and that is why they come to us and trust us to do the job we do best: translate. We work with organizations in regulated and high-stakes fields: life sciences, legal, financial, and corporate. In these fields, a mistranslated term could cost too much to allow a machine to do the guesswork instead of having a human doing the research work. In our process, AI supports our linguists behind the scenes: translation memory and terminology management keep large projects consistent, and AI-assisted quality checks help us catch formatting issues or missed terminology before delivery. What AI does not do at Lingua Graphica Translations is write the first draft of your translation. That work always starts and ends with a human professional.
WHY HUMAN TRANSLATION STILL MATTERS
Machine translation and AI models are trained on patterns, not meaning. They can produce fluent-sounding text that is factually wrong, culturally inappropriate, or dangerously imprecise, particularly in fields like life sciences, legal, and financial translation, where a single mistranslated term can have real consequences. AI cannot read between the lines of a legal contract, recognize when a marketing phrase will offend a target audience, or make the judgment calls that come from years of professional experience and cultural fluency (see our Cross-Cultural Validation services). That is where our linguists come in.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are always transparent about how and when AI tools are used in your project. Every translation we deliver, regardless of the tools involved in producing it, is reviewed, edited, and approved by a qualified human translator before it reaches you.
